"Knight" Out

The plans to see The Dark Knight finally came to fruition. Aaron, Norm, Diana, Shawn and I all went to see the new Batman movie this evening. We saw it in the one remaing IMAX theatre in Calgary at Chinook Mall. Only the action sequences are in IMAX format, but WOW. The show was quite long, but it kept you interested until the last 10 minutes or so. Not like the bloody Lord of the Rings movies where all you can think of is whether you should be doing something else or not.

Heath Ledger's performance was as promised. It was a dazzling display of talent. Unfortunate for the world and his family that he's not around to revel in it. He really stole the show.

After the movie, Norm complained about Diana's eating during the beginning of the flick and Aaron complained about their talking about Diana eating during the beginning of the flick. This lead Shawn to complain about my comments during the flick and then all the guys just complained about women and movies in general. "They're called movies, not talkies." You guys sound as bad as my dad. "They're called sleepovers because you're supposed to sleep." Whatever.

And that is why I watch movies from the comfort of my couch. I seriously haven't been to the theater in about 5 years. And why, when I can wait a few months, order it for $3.99 on my Movies on Demand, sit in my jammies and eat my own popcorn? :)

I do remember Dad saying sleepovers were for sleeping and not talking. He would then make our friends go home at 10:00 the next morning because we had to do chores
