Ariel is my brother-in-law's wife. She's from Nova Scotia and pronounces the word "aunt" like "ahnt." I'm going to try and remember to train my kids to call her "ahnt" in honor of her heritage. ;)
Ariel is having a baby girl in July. I offered to throw her a baby shower while on our trip to Canmore. About 25+ people were invited and 7 people came besides me and the momma-to-be. Not as many as I'd hoped but not a total bust. ;)
The party was late getting started of course. I was way behind getting things ready, even with my mom there to help! Laura G. was the only one on time and she came by transit! Talk about friendship! This was the first time I met Laura and I'd have to say we all really like her. ;) It's just my opinion, but I think she and my single (obviously) brother-in-law should get married! ;) Laura helped prepare the veggie platter, bless her heart! ;)
We met Ariel's other friend, Kyley, at the birthday party on Sunday. She's 3-months prego and looks just as pregnant as Ariel!
Other attendees: Grandma Mark (all the way from Lethbridge!), mother-in-law Wendy, Aunt Laura, Diana and Lindsay. My mom helped with preparations but couldn't stay.
We had a wicked awesome spinach dip, afore-mentioned veggie platter, strawberry trifle, vanilla slices and a punch that involved Sprite and raspberry sorbet.
Ariel opened presents and we told baby horror stories to make her nervous. It was our mother-in-law's idea... She's merciless! ;) I haven't gotten my present for Norm and Ariel yet since Canada no longer sells it. Well, I should say our ToysRUs no longer carries it. Sears has it but a much more expensive price. I'll be picking it up when I go to the States this weekend:

It's a hands-free diaper pail!
